Hello,

I am about to begin my first project (a pair of trousers). From reading some of the posts on the forum, I've gotten the impression that hand sewing is preferred over machine sewing, especially by the more advanced and professional members. I can see a lot of situations where hand sewing would be advantageous (E.G. Button Holes, Buttons, generally smaller and more detail oriented portions of a garment), but it seems to me that machine sewing could be more appropriate for things like seams that would require less fine detail and need more strength. I was wondering if you guys could let me know what your opinions on the subject are so that I could make sure that I can make sure I'm using the correct approach when I start sewing my new project.
